Second Life Webinars

The topic in this weeks discussion board was all about webinars and whether or not they are better than in person seminars. Personally for me, if it wasn't too time or cost prohibitive, I would prefer to attend a seminar in person. For a topic such as Second Life though, a webinar may actually be more appropriate. Here is a link to one by Sirsi Dynix Institute. This is a second link for a webinar about SL. This third link is a webinar about Teen SL.

I subscribe to the Stephen's Lighthouse RSS feed and have learned about a lot of different things through this resource. It is amazing how much he is able to blog given the amount of time he spends traveling. Check it out if you get a chance.

It's wonderful that there are so many free archived webinars out there from which we can learn! Thanks for sharing these examples.

I also liked the Stephen's Lighthouse blog-- it contains some interesting news. How did you find out about it? I am getting closer and closer to subscribing to RSS feeds... the desire is building!

Due to the heavy course load over the last week or so, I haven't been able to read Boing Boing. I need to look at it soon though because it is approaching 400 posts at this point. I hate to not read them though because I laugh at half and am astonished at the other half. It really is amazing what is out there on the Web.

I have to thank a fellow student for the link to the webinars although I knew Sirsi Dynix played a large role in library technology.

Dr. Nicholson posted a list of blogs that a library tech person should read. I added all of them to my list and Stephen's Lighthouse was one of them. Blue Skunk blog was another that I added from the list. I say take the plunge and subscribe. It is amazing the amount of information you can learn in a short blog post.
